Thanks Sean, yeah I knew you could get them from there too but I'd rather support the site sponsors from this forum.

You know this is designed to go over the top of your 'modified' heat shield - for looks and heat protection! On its own, this will have nowhere near the protection of the standard shield.

I had the SPT heat shield, painted my standard heat shield gloss black (high temp obviously) and put this over the top. Looked great.

Also - buy my ID1000's before Matt gets here and go E85 (can do a good deal for you seeing as your local) 8)

Thanks Josh. Thats interesting. I'll see what my mechanic can do. He may be able to modify the stock one as well as fit the Cobb one over the top. Ive never liked the look of the factory heat shields. I realize they are designed for function over fashion. But yeah, the Cobb unit should make it look a bit better visually.

Picked up some second hand shocks with lowered Lovell springs from Sean Spencer. Seeing as he has spent the time to get the shocks serviced and re-bushed I thought I'd swap them over with my stock ones to see if the knocking noise disappears.

Also booked the car in to Hamish from Elite Finish here in SA for paint correction next Tuesday.

Still waiting on those Shocks/Springs from Sean Spencer. He hasnt replied to any of my PM's, text messages or posts in his thread. If you know him or have contact with him, can you please get him to call me ASAP?

On a positive note, my dump pipe has just arrived in the nick of time. So my mechanic will be giving my car a full service, fitting the dump and going through my shocks/springs to hopefully alleviate the knock. Matt is due here at the end of the month too, so I am keen to see how well the car goes once this is all done.
Cheers

Update:

Had my dump pipe fitted last Friday by my mechanic. He was able to get it in and fitted without the need of a hammer or pry bar. There was some general 'negotiations' required to get it to clear the trans casing but it did clear and as expected only by 2-5mm tops at the cat. I was informed that as long as the cat does not touch anything, then the transmission will be fine. He also modified and refitted my stock heat shield too which was a neat job. Although I do have a Cobb Tuning shield I have paid for and still waiting on to be fitted as well. The dump connection to the Ultrex CBE was straight forward, although the hanger position of the dump had to be slightly changed on the car body to fit it which made the dump sit a bit lower than I wanted but it meant no 'forcing' the dump to comply. So I will need to be careful going over speed humps. But So far so good though. (refer pics below)

Last night, I went to Hotwires place and he kindly uploaded the new safe revision for the dump from Matt (Kido) so that I can run it with S# and feel some of the power this dump has released. I was able to give the car a little squirt in S# last night and I must admit, the car feels strong. No sign of boost cut either. I explained to Matt the things I was experiencing and he let me know the tune is set safe for now until he arrives and is able to unleash its full potential. But all in all it felt very good.

This morning I had to see a customer in the hills, so I was able to give the car a good test to see how well the car is behaving. The car performed nice! That was fun! Lots more mid range, and the car just wanted to pull. Topped out a little early due to the safe tune, but I can feel it will want to go harder once Matt tweaks it. The exhaust note was awesome, and you could hear the turbo spool up for added audible pleasure.

Very nice mate - enjoy!

Sometimes I wish i modded/tuned my Gen4 progressively so I could gauge the impact of each mod - rather than doing it all at once.

Thanks Josh. I originally said I wasnt going to mod it, and look at the slippery slope Im heading down now....hahaha. But yes, I know what you mean, and sometimes a slow progression of mods gives you a sense of appreciation for the mod rather than a lump sum effect of many mods all at once.
