Been driving this around on the base tune. It goes a lot better now. Alot. Saving the planet is good fun. This, however, does not mean I will stop eating whale.

Yeah, so much better. It feels much more responsive and torquey. If I could drive it would run deep into the 12s as it sits now.

Re: Kiahatsiu's 05 Wagon-- down the slippery slope.

So, as some of you might have gathered I have bought an ej257 bottom end. It has Manley platinum pistons, Manley H beam rods (not eagles, yay), ACL bearings, Nitrided crank, fettled oil galleries, 12mm oil pump and 14mm studs. Plans is to stick my DAVCS heads on it with a bit of port work. Also bought some JUN 264 cams from Garage 88.
I am considering through a killerB sump, baffle and oil pick up on it too.
Hope to have it back on the road soon enough.

Doubt it will make that, but it would be nice if it did. It will be on 98 initially, as my current fuel system will struggle on e85, that said, it would be good for 305 on e85. Could get there on 98 I guess.

Right.
Back in Australia. Picked my cams up from my mates place. Just waiting on the bottom end to turn up at the shop now.
Anyone have any advice on valve springs and retainers?
