For what its worth. My dump pipe literally rests on my gearbox bellhousing.

Given how hot mine gets I don't think its a problem

1) send it back and get another - nevermind the stuffing around you have endured to get to this point (and like me probably waited 1+ months for your pipe);
2) gently "caress" your cat with a hammer or similar to make it fit - so far i cannot tell any ill effects being metallic core and well within the outer s/s casing; or
3) supposedly a 2 metre length of steel stuck up the cat end to bend the pipe whilst bolted to the turbo. To me this seemed likely to cause other issues.

So, hopefully it fits and you got a good one. Because none of the above options are fantastic for a product that carries a premium price on the basis that it is a "perfect fit" and requires "no modification".

FYI, the pipe fits and is based off the US LGT 5EAT design. Just clears the steering column :)

I have seen 2 fitted to S Edition Foresters so far :)

2 of the crap "Aus-spec" ones, or the US ones like I had Matt?

FYI, the US spec ones fit perfectly with a GRB/GRF STi steering knuckle ($80 from Kris at Rising Sun).

US spec ones fitted up perfectly. One in Brisbane about 2011 and another in Sydney in 2012, both still issue free. Guess it also comes down to the clearance on the individual car too. The small amount of play in the DP bolt holes can put the whole exhaust angle off.

Plenty of non-5EAT ones fit (but are less awesome for non-5EAT :lol: )

Front brakes are changed. Thanks to cruisn, I now have R33 Skyline calipers on the front of the car.

The day started well - good weather, I got the car out on the driveway, got it up on jack stands on all four corners (I was planning to do braided lines front and rear today as well).

I tackled the left front caliper first. The stock caliper and carrier came off (the carrier was definitely torqued on tight!), I was a little surprised that the rotor came off so easily (on other cars I've owned, there's a screw that holds it captive). It was at this stage that I drew the obligatory blood (left middle finger, right on the cuticle behind the nail, a nice gash, it'll be fun showing people tomorrow :)).

To get the new brakes fitted, I had to get a little friendly with the hub using my Dremel (thank goodness I found it, because with out it, there was no way the new brakes were going on). Between finding the Dremel, finding some protective eye wear (never Dremel without protective eyewear kids!), and a rain delay (the first of a few today), I eventually got the hub ground away (only a few millimeters in key locations), and got the adapters fitted. Putting the calipers on was easy after that, and after attaching brake lines, bleeding and taking the car for a test drive, I'm damned happy.

Because of bad weather and some other issues, no braided lines fitted yet. They'll come. :)

The look is subtle - I went for a grey/silver colour with red "SUBARU" decals. They easily fit under my wheels too (17x7.5 JDM STI wheels). I'll try to get some photos tomorrow (I ran out of light and weather today).

Rob good effort. I just don't think it goes at all or could it be the decal is just to small ?
