Alex this is the best pics I can find. The quality is shit cause there from my iphone.

The first pic was daylight still but you can see the difference in colour. The second shot was there first time used at night and they are bright.

WA WA WE WA, GREAT PICS! The brightness of the light through pics actually made me squint haha!

This is what im getting from leo:

Low Beam: HID 6000k
High Beam: Stock
Fog Lights: 9006 LED Fog Light
Parkers: 28SMD LED
License Plate: T10 SMD LEB Bulb 1 Watt

Based on pics, I think the 9006 LEDs are fine for what I want to achieve , or they may be a bit blue compared to the 6000k. Also may upgrade High Beams to better hallogens depending on how stock ones look with HID low beams..

THANKS FOR UR HELP GUYS :D

Hey Alex,

My setup is as follows:

Low Beam : 6000K Slim ballast HID KIT from Leo
High Beam: Stock
Parkers: Currently have 12SMD LED's from Leo, but one of them is starting to flicker...so i may be gettin 28SMD Led's from Leo (T10 base though)
Fogs: 25 SMD LED's from Arith (dont think he sells these anymore, and if i remember correctly i think they were HB3 or HB4 connector)
Number Plate: I got a pair off ebay, they were 2 small LED's mouted at 90 degrees to the connector, that way it lights up the whole number plate. If u get the LED's that are not 90 degrees to the connector than ull only light up the 1st and last digit on your number plate.

Hmm, i wonder how the 9006 LED Fog Light will compare to the 25 SMD LEDs you have, cause I like the look of yours...!

9006 is the bulb type, not the brightness. As the SMD LED Foglights I sold were HB4/9006, which is what the post-face lifted Libertys run for the foglights. I think the ones Leo sells are the same in brightness and colour temp (they match very well with 6000K HID's).

Anyhow, this is my setup:

  • Low Beam - 6500K From Hippo Sleek (JDM Brand)
  • High Beam - 60w Halogen From Philips X-Treme Power
  • Parkers - T10 LED From Liberal
  • Foglights - Foglights replaced by wire mesh as I'm using a pair of 6-LED foglight strips

I wouldn't recommend HID's for the high beam, because high beams are meant to be spread out and illuminate the largest area in front of you as possible. Since HID's are very focused, they would not be ideal for high beams. Stick with halogens if you can.

Ah k sweet, so the 9006 will be good, Thanks!

Yeh, wasnt gonna go HID with the high beams for the points you mentioned. That and they are rarely on so it would be a waist of money $$$. I may however upgrade to halogens as mentioned.

If you want a deep blue colour then HIDs are the way to go unless you get blue tinted halogens which reduce the brightness dramatically.

Bear in mind if you fit a HID retrofit without changing the projector assembly, that the light will come out patchy and unfocused, i.e. you will never get the proper (Audi) HID performance which is a solid, evenly lit beam of light which is nice and wide. You'll just mimic the colour.

I have factory hids without projector headlights. So are you saying they are no good because I don't have projector headlights. I have also notice a few other brands of cars that have the same setup

few cars i can think of is some of the older Lexus and VW Golf .. i guess that's why they use D2R bulbs where it's got a shield around the bulb to stop the light go every where .. compare to D2S bulb where they use it in car with projector head light ..

Hey Leo,

Do you sell the full HID kit or just the bulbs? if so whats the damage for low beams and foggies?

Are you running HID's now (with the ballasts)? But you should probably PM him or check out his vendor section (viewforum.php?f=42) instead of hijacking this thread.

If it's factory then it's fine. Reflector headlamps typically have a shield in front of the globe to control cutoff and glare to oncoming traffic; factory HID without projector lens would be the same.
