Finished wrapping the headers yesterday

Used two rolls of 1"x50ft DEI titanium wrap

Ran out of wrap so had to wrap uppipe only half way up for now.

Tips for those to attempt this:

Allow plenty of time (3-4 hours or if removal of uppipe is required 5-6)

Don't use the shit DEi stainless steel zip ties. They barely hold the wrap. I used stainless hose clamps. Get the ones with the 7mm nut on top to make it easier to tighten down on the wrap with a ratchet whilst you hold the wrap down with your other hand.

I used 8 35-50mm clamps and 4 45-60mm clamps to do the job.

Bit of a pita but seems to be working well. Can notice slight improvement in spool and definite top end improvement (leaning out to 11.8:1 now previously 11.3/11.4)

Test will be this Wednesday

PM sent ;)
You bought the DEI Ti wrap from MSCN.com.au?
Apparently they have the best pricing on DEI in Aus...

I wonder if some RTV could stop the cut ends fraying?

Thanks Benny

Yes mscn - $47 each roll plus gst

DEI stainless zip ties were $18 each packet of 8 (bought two)

Hose clamps were a couple of dollars each

Tried superglue on the frayed ends and it didnt really work. Kept fraying. Best way I could stop it was tucking the frayed ends under each new wrap section. Problem then occurs when reaching the end of the pipe (header flange or uppipe flange). In this case I would tuck a little bit of the frayed end under and place the hose clamp on top and tighten. Hopefully this will stop the fraying.

Here are some pics just before I finished :

The killer b install thread on nasioc recommended 2 rolls of 1"x50' but now I realise those are 4-1 and the Kobe/Kando/PSR/AVO type are 4-2-1 which might explain the shortfall...
