The HKS EVC, paired with the Ezy writer, is a very good set-up. Try getting the ezy writer to add to it Brandon, will give the tuner even more control of the boost when tuning.

The ewg ideally should be controlled by an evc

Justin was still internally gated so maybe that's why he was ok with the 3 port

I still would recommend a evc over a 3 port any day of the week

The stepper motor itself is enough to justify the cost

I bought a Pierburg unit the other day and it will be fitted this friday in conjunction with a revision tune by Matt. Considering my car is basically stock (stock exhaust and TMIC) I can only assume that it should be ok.

They will be fine for your application. It worked fine for me up until Monday and before I started running 24psi boost

Ah... yeah Im no where near that. lol

My waste gate apparently is running at 90% duty cycle based on the logs and LV I recently took. Matt recommended me to get the Pierburg one.

Hope you get yours sorted soon Owen

Are you not concerned about running that much boost through a stock internal engine.

Anecdotal evidence suggests 22psi is about the max these engines will run comfortablly for any period of time without requiring a rebuild.

I was also talking to Dan at RTR recently and they're using Grimmspeed and Pierburg 3 port BCS on EVO's running 30 psi. So I don't think that issue is reaching the actual components limit unless it is actually faulty.

24 psi??

I was told you were tuned for 20 tapering down to 18 by redline??

I agree with Bruce that 24 is too much for an unopened motor

The least that will happen on that boost is the heads lifting

24 tapered to 19 psi. Initially i was concerned but Scott was comfortable and said the engine was very happy with those boost levels
