now running with boost.....and new tmic

Postby senator » Sun Jan 18, 2009 3:19 pm

well it took a while but finally had my avo tmic and hks evc 6 installed by the master ....................Phat GT

Of course the install was clean and can't be seen...... thanks Phat

overall impression   .... need i say more.

the pick up is much more stronger, boost comes on around the 2200-2400 range and its solid all the way through.

big thanks to phat for doing the install on saturday and also spending his sunday morning making a few adjustments to ensure safe levels of boost where set.

Sounds good tony.. how you find the evc 6?

Any reason for the tmic? an not the fmic? is it because the tmic you get more low range? or just a general pref?

He got it for a bargain! :derisive:

Great work Tony! I'm glad you noticed a good result and noticeable difference! Once you get the exhaust the tune everything, it'll be even more fantastic!

Hey, when did you buy that AVO again? November 2008? It's now nearing the end of January 2009. Heh-heh. That's procrastination at almost Mano proportions!

mano yet to play with it............. that will happen after the tune and when i get the a few more things done to handle more boost.

as jim said ... went for the tmic cause it was a quick and cheap mod until and the fmic happens.....maybe

avo tmic is not a bad unit, a few minor details could have been better designed, but its still far better then the oem cooler and with plastic end tanks.

Tony, take it to IS Motors to get the EVC tuned on the dyno. Indy should be able to determine the max safe boost for ya. You might be able to reach 1.2 bar with the top mount, but the exhaust may be a bottleneck to that.

True, Mano, true. I think in your case you were talking it up and got people really hyped up. So naturally people got a bit disappointed when things didn't happen (quickly) because they were waiting in eager anticipation. :P
