HID's Finally!!!

Postby LIBER8ED » Wed Aug 22, 2007 11:10 pm

Hey trendsetters, just a quick one to say that i have FINALLY put the HID's in that i ordered months ago.. never had the balls to fit them, case i blew something up... ( im far from mechanically minded )

either way, fitted them today, took me maybe half hour... 10 of which was probably working up the balls to drill things, and start playing with wires and shit. other than that, fitted them straight in, works a charm.. No need to post up, before and afters, you all know what they look like from the hundred odd others that did them. Either way, very impressed, and i htink i can finally see through the cute chick next doors wall.. ha ha ha

Either way, thanks Leo for writing a step by step process, that an untrained monkey could follow, ( beyond my skill level ) and thanks to everyone that laughed at me when i said i didnt want to wreck anything, ( Franky, and Fish, im referring to you guys.. ha ha, and finally Mick, for bascially saying just do it you idiot, its easy..

ad that to my list of acomplishments that should have had so much less drama..

Damn! Now I'll have to think about it again! :-)

I was using the fact that your car is leased too, and that you didn't have them fitted to justify making a decision to get them for mine. I can't justify my procrastination that way any more.

HAHAHAHA good work on fitting them mate.

We all help brothers out.

Leo told me do it, dont worry etc etc over and over.

I thought it best to then part my knowledge onto you so you could do it.

And the world keeps on spinning until you tell someone they can do it.

Geez Im tired, just finsihed a 16 hour shift.

Had a guy who got stabbed in face  bad

um, yea.... sounds like a tough day at the office...

and yeah sorry weegraeme, this is on the list of must haves now.. i think the line for me stops at turbo.. ha ha..

i know im really only throwing the money away, but i would really be doing that anyway if i owned the car like everyone else.

and as far as im concerned, those who know about it, are those that need to.. ( ie my insurance )

this is the idiots (kurts) guide to installing hid's.. i cant belive i made it seem to hard!! you idiot.. ha ha

hahaha too bad ur not at sydney ..otherwise i would of done it for u in 20mins ...

ok ... i know u can do it ... why ? bcoz it's very very simple ...

here we go !!

pop ur bonnet .. behind the head light ... u will see u plastic cover ... u need to get a drill and start drill one hole per cover right in the middle ... u need a 22mm drill bit after that ... remove ur old bulb .. no use any more ..

now get ur new hid .. the HID bulb should have few wires and a rubber plug thing ... now put the two wires through the hold u just drill on ur cover .. then using the rubber plug ... plug the hole u just drill ... so it's waterproof ....... so now if u look at it .... u will have a plastic cover ... with rubber plug in the middle and few wires go through them ..... one side u will have the might bulb plus power supply ...

ok now insert ur bulb into the head light ... when u pull the plug off from ur factory light ... now u put the 2 wires from hid into the plud ... red to red blk to blk ... out ur cover back on ..............

now just connect the rest of the wire since it's just plug & play so ........ u can do that with ur eyes close ..

if u have any problem ... let me know ..... i can take some photos for u .. if u want or call me. !!!

trust me u can do it !!!

Leo

I got mine through the group buy that IDOLYZ did here a while back. beset $160 ive spent... so far.. ha ha

and now that i have done that, i would love the hid's in the foggies, and something more powerfull in the high beam area... ( lot of night time driving with wildlife ) but if anything, just so i dont have 3 diferent coloured lights
