Why dont you have your lights on 100% of the time anyway? you just never turn them off.

Actually, in 10 years my liberty has had the headlight switch turned off maybe 3-4 times total, ever.

They auto off when the car is off, so dont ever need to be touched.

I turn mine off because it's an extra drain on the battery when trying to start the car, and having the headlights powering on. Or so my dad tells me.

It's noticeable in his Subaru, lights will kind of dim and flicker for a second if you try and start the car with them on.

Im pretty sure that all car headlights dim when trying to start the car. Just the amount of current draw to start the car is so much.

I'm not saying it's specific to my dads car, I was just saying I have seen it on my dads car when I did it and my dad told me not to, hence never seeing it on my car.

you don't need to worry about it on yours though - a relay drops out the lights (and a bunch of other stuff) when you turn the key to start
