"Permission denied" errors

Postby Ric » Mon Aug 03, 2009 11:14 am

GoDaddy changed our IP address a few days ago. (208.109.138.8 -> 208.109.138.80)
I updated the DNS for forum.liberty.asn.au Sunday morning, but it's taking a while to flow though to all the DNS servers.
If you see a "permission denied" message, it's going to the old server.

Shutting down all copies of your browser, then starting them up again MIGHT help. Otherwise it should fix itself within 24 hours.

Looks like the errors have finally stablised for me. Was starting to get withdrawls since Saturday night .......almost resorted to talking to the family ....

As the weekend usually either involves me out and about away from the computer, talking with the family (i.e. Audrey) or with the laptop left at work the I hardly noticed it. Was starting to get the shakes this afternoon though....

I have just found that there are continuing problems for TPG users.
TPG have two "name servers". One at 203.12.160.35 and another at 203.12.160.36.
The .35 server is still returning the old IP address, while the .36 server is returning the new address.
It can be just luck which server your PC accesses when you try to connect to the board.
I've just submitted a support complaint to them about this.

In the meantime, you can browse to
Code: Select all
http://forum3.liberty.asn.au
if the normal address is not working.

That explains why I'm still having problems.
Thanks for the heads up Ric.

Thanks for that Ric! Was wondering why TPG was still no go while our business provider with Telstra was working. In the end I just changed the DNS server on our ADSL modem to point at the Telstra DNS servers (while I was still with TPG).
