Forum address stickers - What's your opinion?

Postby Ric » Mon Sep 03, 2007 7:18 pm

This has been a long time coming, as I was waiting for some other developments which haven't worked out.

I'm going to have some stickers made up shortly with the address of this forum.
The address will actually be CLUB.LIBERTY.ASN.AU which will show some info with a direct link to the forum.

Here's an simple example on my car, followed by some variations which I'd like some comments on.
In particular:
  • Underline, or box right around?
  • Join the dots to the box, or just dots? (I was trying to be a bit "different", but am not sure how well it works ;))
  • What colours? White or silver looks good on tinted glass. Black if directly on light coloured metal...
  • Size? This sample is 381x21mm. A full box will make it a little higher unless we reduce the letter size.

hi ric,
looks good,i prefer the 3rd option, can i ask why you are adding the word club to the web address?
dont you think this is more to remember ,and by the time they get to a pc they would have forgooten it?

how can we go about getting a sticker and have you got any idea on the cost yet?

"club" is shorter than "forum", and I want to emphasise that this is an owner's club, not a business.
(I think "Club Liberty" has a nice ring to it also. :D)

Of course I'm open to suggestion. We could just use www.liberty.asn.au instead of club.liberty.asn.au (both pages are active now)

The stickers will be available for close to cost price, so well under $10 each. I'll work out with someone in each capital city to get a few of them to keep postage down.

just a thought

have you thought about contacting subaru marketing to see if they would contribute towards the cost.

im not worried about the $10 just would be good to see if they would support the site.

Dunno about the dots joining the underline. I think I prefer just plain old fashioned full stops.
But I do like the underline better than the box.
Most people have tinted windows, so a light colour would be better IMO.

as for domain, why not leave off the www. and the club. and just have "liberty.asn.au" the shorter the better I reckon.
I've just noticed that libertygt.com.au now has a forum on it again, albeit empty... I assume there is still ownership issues with that? otherwise it's a great domain name.

my 2c worth.

hmmm, interesting.
JT is still listed as the owner of that Domain.
Maybe he finally read the instructions I left him on how to move the old forum....
